Clemens Briels

Biography
Clemens Briels was born in the Netherlands in 1946. He had a passion for painting from an early age, but nevertheless embarked on a career as a designer. It was not until the age of 46 that he decided to devote himself to his passion. He travelled the world in search of inspiration. His travels to the Orient, America and the Caribbean were the inspiration for his first paintings.

Clemens Briels is a curious artist who refuses to limit his work to painting on canvas. His search for volume and depth leads him to use paper and cardboard to create relief in his paintings. His world is colourful, bringing together the exotic and the familiar in the same image. His work is a call to travel, to encounter and to adventure.
