Andrea Roggi

Andrea Roggi was born in Tuscany in 1962. From his adolescence, the soul of an artist revealed in him. He willingly devotes himself to painting but also to poetry. During one of his visits to the Santa Maria Novella basilica in Florence, Andrea Roggi was captivated by the trompe-l'oeil effect of Masaccio's fresco: The Trinity. This is the trigger. Indeed, the play of reliefs and three-dimensionality have fascinated him for a long time.
From then on, it is the sculpture which will have its favors. He began by working with bronze, using the lost wax casting method. But Andrea wants to go further and does not hesitate to embark on studies of chemistry and metallurgy at the same time, which allows her to perfect and personalize her technique. This is how he developed a patina of multiple colors that he applied to his bronzes, giving them a delicious originality.
