David Gerstein

David Gerstein was born in 1944 in Jerusalem. At a very young age, he was captivated by art and nothing seemed to quench his thirst for learning.

 

This born artist then undertook to travel the world from school to school to train for his passion. It is logical that he begins his journey by studying at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem. Then his lifelong dream, Paris, stretched his arms and he left to join the Beaux-Arts in 1960. He then attended the Art Student League in New York and his steps led him to Italy where he participated in the Biennale of Printing in Florence in 1972. He graduated from St Martin’s School of Art in London in 1974.

 

During his travels, David Gerstein was deeply influenced by all the cities he visited, their culture and their energy, which would irrevocably shape his style and his resolutely cosmopolitan sensibility.
