Jacques Van den Abeele

Jacques Van den Abeele was born in 1960 in Belgium where he currently lives.

After attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Oudenaarde, he obtained the diploma and medal from the Belgian Government for Decorative Arts and Sculpture. He also graduated in Drawing (live model) from the Saint-Lucas Academy in Ghent.

For each bronze, Jacques Van den Abeele directly sculpts the wax, thus giving each number an original note that makes it unique. Used to foundry work, the artist himself carves his sculptures and ensures the final touch: the patina.

Jacques Van den Abeele plays with full and empty spaces to impart power and mystery to his subjects, characters or animals, and to stimulate the public’s imagination. Music is a powerful source of inspiration for him.

The artist has won numerous awards. His works have been acquired by museums, municipalities and collectors in many countries.
